Wiki Tasks

Wiki Tasks On this page I will set weekly or fortnightly wiki tasks. Sometimes the task may need to be complete in your own time, other times you will have time in class. Any questions about the tasks feel free to email me at k_smyth@pukekoheint.school.nz. Always remember if you can't complete the work at home on time (for any reason) make sure you see me before the due date.
Term 1 Week 8Due Friday 25 March

  1. Go to "Study Ladder", sign in & complete the 6 activities that Miss Smyth has set.


 Term 1 Week 7Due Friday 18 March

  1. Get your family to place feedback about your conference on the new 'Wall wisher' on the PB4L page.
  2. Click on the message tab at the top of your page.
  3. Then read and follow the feedback I have provide for you.
  4. Research your speech topic.
  5. Under today's date type up any information you find in your own words.

 Term 1 Week 6Due Friday 11 March Under today's date type up your

  1. speech topic
  2. goal for each learning area
  3. how you know you've achieved your goal
  4. what you'll do to achieve your goal
  5. what help you'll need at home.

Here is an example of how to set out your goals
  • My writing goal is to use more adjectives in my written.
  • I will know I have achieve this when I check my work and most nouns already have an adjective attached to them.
  • To achieve this goal I will
  1. regularly check all my work and add adjectives to my work.
  2. choose words that adjectives for my spelling list when I can choose words from the dictionary.
  3. try and use adjectives on my wiki too.


  • The help home can give me is
  1. checking my wiki page & give me feedback on the use of adjectives
  2. giving me a noun and asking me to describe it

Term 1 Week 5Due Friday 4 March
  1. Use http://thesaurus.com/ to edit your Christchurch Earthquake Poem, so that it is an alliteration poem.
  2. Publish your alliteration poem on your wiki page under today's date.


 Term 1 Week 4Due Friday 25 February


  1. On your wiki page, under your name, add today's date.
  2. Then complete the questions about calendars & timetables on the Maths page under the date.
  3. There is also new learning pathway for you to do called "Timetable Talent Quest", the link to this is also on the maths page. Be aware this activity has a lot of sound.
  4. Finally, use the "Spelling City" link on the English page to practice your spelling words. For some of these activities you will need sound to complete them e.g. testing your words



 Term 1 Week 2 & 3Due Friday 18 February
  1. Locate your wiki page & give it a personalised title.
  2. Add the subheading "2010".
  3. Under this subheading, write two sentence using the thinking hat to express your thoughts about your school year last year. Remember each sentences needs to be linked to a different hat & that your readers can identify which hat belongs to which sentence.
  4. Also under the "2010" subheading, transfer anything you want from last year's wiki pukeroom28.wikispaces.com

  1. Locate the wall wisher on the home page. Read the instruction on the wall wisher. Add a post to the wall wisher.
